- 240 g/ 8½ oz of self-raising flour
- 100 g/ 3½ oz of butter
- 90 g/ 3 oz of soft brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ¼ tsp of salt
- 60 ml of fresh milk
- 60 ml of plum juice
- A pinch of soda powder
- ½ tsp of grounded nutmeg
- ¾ cup of seeded plums (chopped or diced)
- 100 g/ 3½ oz of walnuts
- 4 tbsp of oatmeal

- Prepare the oven by preheating it at 180°C/ 350°F.
- Sift self-raising flour, soda powder, salt and nutmeg.
- Beat butter and sugar till creamy.
- Add eggs gradually, beating the batter well after each addition.
- Add fresh milk and plum juice and blend until well combined.
- Fold in sifted flour, plums, walnuts and oatmeal.
- Stir the mixture till combined.
- Spoon the mixture into greased cake tin.
- Bake the batter for 30 minutes and remove the cake from oven after baking and let it cool on wire rack.
