| Sesame Strawberry Cake Recipe |
Ingredients |
- 225g butter
- 225g brown sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 225g all purpose flour
- 1˝ tsp baking powder
- 100g sesame seeds, baked until golden brown
- 100ml fresh milk
- 1 tsp strawberry emulco
- 3 egg whites
- A pinch of salt
- 6 tbsp strawberry jam
- Whipping cream and fresh strawberries for
garnishing

Method

- Line an 8" spring form cake tin with greaseproof paper and grease the bottom of tin with butter.
- Beat butter together with brown sugar until creamy and
light.
- Add in egg yolks gradually and continue to beat until it turns pale and fluffy.
- Fold in all purpose flour together with
baking powder and stir evenly.
- Proceed to add in fresh milk, sesame seeds and strawberries emulco. Stir evenly.
Set aside.
- In another large mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with salt until stiff peaks are formed.
- Fold the the egg whites batter into the mixture from Step 5. Blend evenly.
- Pour the end result batter into the greased cake tin.
- Bake the cake in a preheated oven at temperature of 180°C for 40 minutes or test the cake with skewer to check if the cake is fully cooked.
- After the cake has been removed from oven after baking, leave the cake to cool.
- Cut the cake horizontally into two separate layers. Spread the strawberry jam onto the layer of cake. Arrange the cake on top of the first one.
- Pipe some whipping cream on top and arrange some fresh strawberries on top of the cake as desired.
