Marble Chiffon Cake Recipe

Ingredients

 A
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 40g caster sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • ˝ tsp vanilla essence
  • 40g corn oil
  • 50ml fresh milk
  • 75g plain flour
 B
  • 4 egg whites
  • 50g caster sugar
 C
  • 6g cocoa powder

Preparation

  1. Sift the plain flour and set aside.
  2. Beat egg yolks, salt, vanilla essence and sugar from ingredients A until creamy.
  3. Add in corn oil, milk and proceed to mix evenly.
  4. Fold in the plain flour and continue to blend evenly. Set the mixture aside.
  5. Beat the egg whites from ingredients B until foamy. Add in caster sugar gradually and beat until light and fluffy.
  6. Mix the egg whites batter into the mixture from Step 4. Stir the combination of mixtures evenly.
  7. Set a quarter of the batter and add in the cocoa powder to make chocolate batter.
  8. Pour the remaining cake batter from Step 6 into chiffon cake mold of size 18 cm.
  9. Use a piece of stick to swirl the chocolate batter on the cake creating some zebra or marble patterns.
  10. Place the cake in the preheated oven at temperature of 175°C for about 45 minutes.
  11. Remove the cake from oven after baking and leave the cake to cool on rack.
