Orange Cheese Cake Recipe

An orange flavour yogurt cheesecake

Ingredients

BASE

  • 100 g of soda cracker crumbs
  • 70 g ofmelted butter
  • CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE

    A

  • 150 g of orange lassi/ yoghurt
  • 250 g of cream cheese
  • B

  • 3 egg yolks
  • ½ tbsp of lemon juice
  • C

  • 3 egg whites
  • 70 g of caster sugar
  • D

  • Grated zest of ½ orange
  • Preparation

    1. Preheat oven to 180°C/ 350°F.
    2. Mix soda cracker crumbs with melted butter and press into a lined 7" round cake tin.
    3. Use a beater to stir orange lassi and cream cheese until smooth.
    4. Add in B and mix well.
    5. Whisk egg white and caster sugar at high speed until soft peak is formed.
    6. Slowly mix into mixture and pour onto cracker base.
    7. Grate orange zest over the cake.
    8. Steam bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven at 180°C/ 350°F for 20 minutes.
    9. Reduce the heat to 140°C/ 280°F and bake for another 1½ hours or until cooked.
    10. Leave cake to cool in the oven with door ajar 1 hour.
    11. Chill in the fridge for 4 hours.
    12. Remove cake from tin and place onto a cake board.
    13. Cut into pieces and serve.

    Baking Tips and Ideas

    1. Can replace orange lassi/ yoghurt with any other flavor lassi/ yoghurt drinks that you prefer.
