Banana Custard Cheese Cake Recipe

A slice of banana custard cheesecake

Ingredients

CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE

  • 500 g of cream cheese
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 50 g milk
  • 2 tbsp custard powder
  • 3 bananas, cut into pieces and mixed with
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 egg whites
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • Method

    1. Firstly, preheat the electric oven at 200°C.
    2. Line a 8" round cake tin with grease proof paper.
    3. Use a beater to mix cream cheese, egg yolks and milk until well combined.
    4. Add bananas and mix until smooth.
    5. Whisk egg whites and caster sugar in a clean mixing bowl at high speed until soft peak is formed.
    6. Mix into cream cheese mixture in 3 batches.
    7. Pour cream cheese mixture into the lined baking tin.
    8. Steam bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven at 200°C for 15 minutes or until the surface turns into lightly brown.
    9. Reduce the heat to 150°C and bake for another 50 minutes or until cooked.
    10. Turn off heat.
    11. Leave cake to cool in the oven with door ajar for 1 hour.
    12. Chill cheesecake in the fridge for 4 hours.
    13. Remove cake from tin.
    14. Cut into pieces and serve.
