| Funnel Cake Recipe |
Ingredients |
Makes 6 cakes/ 6 servings
- Vegetable oil
- 1 cup flour
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon double acting baking powder
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- Confectioners sugar

Method
|
- Before serving, heat about ¾ inches vegetable oil to 370ºF in a 12 inches skillet over medium heat.
- Meanwhile, mix flour, milk, baking powder, salt and egg in a medium size bowl with a wire whisk or fork.
- Holding a narrow spouted funnel/ ½ inches spout, close the spout with your finger.
- Pour a scant ¼ cup of the batter into the funnel. Over the hot oil, carefully remove your finger to let the batter run out in a steam, while making spiral about 6 inches in diameter.
- Fry for 6 to 8 minutes, or until golden brown, turning once with tongs. Drain well on paper towels. Repeat with remaining batter, stir well before pouring.
- Sprinkle cakes lightly with confectioners sugar, serve warm.
